  • EMP Level 3: Professionals with 3-5 years at or near mid-career

MISSION

Our mission is to provide a network for those in the MPMA region who work with or are interested in Emerging Museum Professionals.  We want to enhance the cultural landscape by providing a forum on the value and relevance of Emerging Museum Professionals.

HOW TO JOIN

MPMA Members: Please sign in and go to your profile.  You can edit your profile and choose this PIN and/or any of the other PINs that you wish to join from a checkbox list in your profile.

Non-Members: Please fill out the PIN Sign-up Form and you will be added to this MPMA PIN.

BENEFITS OF JOINING

  • Connect with colleagues

MPMA EMP’s primarily connects through a Facebook page where members can pose questions to each other, read articles and posts relevant to EMPs, and share experiences among peers. MPMA stays connected with the National Emerging Museum Professionals Network and is always on the lookout for opportunities the national group may provide.

  • Build your skills with professional development

EMP supports members through a number of programs such as webinars, online meet-ups, and more. EMP’s robust engagement at MPMA’s Annual Meeting includes EMP-endorsed sessions, thought-leaders at the EMP event and networking opportunities.

Gain knowledge helpful for your museum career track.  Sessions at the MPMA conference and content on our Facebook page are provided to help you learn about leadership and the museum field.

  • Enjoy fellowship and mentoring opportunities

Scholarships are available for all MPMA members, including EMP’s, to attend MPMA’s Annual Meeting. The award covers basic conference registration, tickets to attend EMP events, an invitation to the NAME Breakfast, and a travel stipend. Mentoring is available upon request.

Please contact us if you would like to be involved in EMPs or if you would like to submit a session or webinar idea. We welcome your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions.
