What is VM?

VM is a Professional Interest Network of the Mountain-Plains Museums Association.

Our mission is to provide a network for those in the MPMA region who work with or are interested in museum volunteering.  We want to enhance the cultural landscape by providing a forum on the value and relevance of volunteering.

MPMA Members: Please sign in and go to your profile.  You can edit your profile and choose this PIN and/or any of the other PINs that you wish to join from a checkbox list in your profile.

Non-Members: Please fill out the PIN Sign-up Form and you will be added to this MPMA PIN.

  • Connect with colleagues

This site [Pin Chair:  you can add a link to your email or website] is the place where members can pose questions to each other, seek vendor recommendations, and share experiences among collegial peers. [PIN Chair:  You might want to create a LinkedIn page or ask MPMA to create it for you]The LinkedIn community provides an instant connection to members and associates around the country as well as access to the latest news, job opportunities and best practices.

  • Build your skills with professional development

VM supports members through a number of programs such as webinars, online meet-ups, and more. VM’s robust engagement at MPMA’s Annual Meeting includes VM-endorsed sessions, thought-leaders at the VM event and networking opportunities.

  • Enjoy fellowship and mentoring opportunities

Scholarships are available for VM members to attend MPMA’s Annual Meeting. The award covers basic conference registration, tickets to attend VM events, an invitation to the VM Breakfast, and a travel stipend. Mentoring is available to VM colleagues new to the field.

Please contact us if you would like to get more involved in VM or if you would like to submit a session or webinar idea. We welcome your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions.
